I am going out to China in late March for a gathering of researchers and businesses looking at insect protein and insect farming. They have a very diverse range of edible insect species across China but most of the farmed varieties are similar to those in Europe and the US, as far as I can tell. I hope to be able to facilitate some collaborations and exchanges with the Chinese community.
Do post your thoughts on how we could achieve mutually beneficial outcomes by working together.
Good to hear, Nick. In light of the continuing Brexit fiasco, it would be good to form some strong industrial links with Chinese businesses in the field. Perhaps going through an exercise with them to find out what their future commercial interests are in the UK and Europe, and what kind of relationship they are willing to develop would be helpful as a first step.
